Why sitting up is the line
Most babies sit with support at around six months and unaided somewhere between seven and nine. Until then the head and trunk tire fast, and an upright seat lets them slump forward. A reclined seat holds them at an angle where the head rests back and the harness does the work.
What to look for in any stroller-trike for this age
- A recline, not just a padded seat.
- A five-point harness done up every time.
- A canopy that pulls forward, because at six months they are looking up.
- Stroller certification. A toy standard was not written for a passenger who cannot hold on.

When to move to trike mode
