The idea
One product, several childhoods
Most baby gear has a short life. You buy a pram, then a trike, then a balance bike, and each one is outgrown long before it wears out. It fills the garage and it adds up.
smarTrike® was built around a different idea. Every product is modular, so the same frame carries a child through several stages. Parts move, adjust and come off as they are needed. The trike your six month old sits in is the trike your three year old pedals.
Better value, and a good deal less waste.

How it works
Four stages, one frame
The exact stages differ by model. This is the shape of it.
Stage one
You push
Reclined seat, full harness, canopy up. Your child is a passenger and you have both hands on the parent handle.
Stage two
They steer, you drive
Handlebars unlock so they can hold on and feel involved, while steering stays with you.
Stage three
They pedal
Pedals engage and the parent handle comes off. Footrest and harness stow away.
Stage four
They ride
A trike they take themselves, with nothing left of the stroller but the frame it started on.
The engineering
Touch Steering®
Steering a trike from behind used to mean wrestling it. Touch Steering® is smarTrike's patented system that turns a light movement of the parent handle into a smooth turn at the front wheel.
It sounds like a small thing. It is the difference between a walk you enjoy and a walk you cut short.
