From stroller to trike, in one product

Stroller trikes and kids trikes that grow with your child

smarTrike® has been making trikes that grow with children since 2006. The Wonder™ range starts as a parent-pushed stroller for a baby who cannot yet pedal, then converts to a trike, then to a free-riding trike as your toddler gains confidence. One product, four stages, 6 months to 3 years.

Every Wonder folds in seconds to carry-on size, weighs under 7 kg, and is certified to stroller safety standards rather than toy standards. Sold in over 80 countries to more than 20 million families.

The Wonder™ stroller trike range

A Wonder moves through four modes as your child grows. Stroller mode for babies who need full support. Trike mode with parent steering once they can hold the handlebars. Training mode as they start to pedal. Then it folds flat, small enough for an overhead locker.

All three models share the same core: a lightweight aluminium frame, a 5-point harness, patented 360° one-handed steering with reverse, a shock-absorbing front wheel, a rear brake and a 3 second fold. Where they differ is how early they can start and how comfortable the ride stays over a long day.

Shop the Wonder

Our pick The Wonder max. It is the only one that reclines to 140°, so your child can actually fall asleep in it, and the only one that starts at 6 months. Choose the Wonder or Wonder+ instead if your child is already sitting up unaided and you want the lightest possible carry.

Why parents choose a stroller trike

A pram carries your child. A stroller trike carries them and then teaches them to ride. That matters most between 1 and 3, the window where toddlers want to move independently but tire quickly and cannot yet pedal a bike.

The Wonder covers both. Parent-pushed on the walk out, child-powered on the way home, folded into the boot when they have had enough. It replaces a second stroller, a first trike and a balance-bike stage with one product, which is also why it takes up a fraction of the storage space.

Kids scooters and ride-ons, from 12 months to 12 years

When your child outgrows the Wonder, the Xtend range picks up where it left off. It starts as a seated ride-on a 12 month old can push along with their feet, converts to a three-wheel scooter as they find their balance, then to a two-wheel scooter for older kids. One product, four stages, nine years of use.

It is the same idea as the Wonder. Nothing gets outgrown and replaced, it just changes shape as your child does.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the smarTrike® stroller trike range.

What age is a smarTrike® stroller trike for?

Wonder max™ suits children from 6 months, and Wonder™ from 10 months. Both are designed to be used through to around 3 years, moving through stroller, trike and training modes as your child develops.

How much does the Wonder™ weigh?

Wonder™ weighs 5.98 kg and Wonder max™ weighs 6.95 kg. Both use a lightweight aluminium frame.

Is the Wonder™ approved as carry-on luggage?

Wonder™ folds to 54 x 25 x 34 cm and Wonder max™ to 54.5 x 26.5 x 38 cm, which meets the carry-on dimensions of most airlines. Cabin baggage rules vary by carrier and fare type, so check with your airline before you fly.

Is a stroller trike as safe as a pram?

Yes. smarTrike® stroller trikes are certified to stroller safety standards, not toy standards. Both Wonder™ models include a 5-point harness, a patented front wheel shock absorber and a one-foot parking brake.

What warranty do I get in Australia?

Every smarTrike® product purchased in Australia comes with a 2 year warranty. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Can I steer the trike with one hand?

Yes. The patented 360° steering system is designed for one-handed control, so you can push, turn and reverse while carrying something in your other hand.

What is the difference between Wonder™, Wonder+™ and Wonder max™?

Wonder™ suits 10 months and up, weighs 5.98 kg and has a mesh seat with a 2-stage canopy. Wonder+™ adds a 3-stage canopy and an extra-large seat for longer days out. Wonder max™ is the only model that suits a 6 month old, because its seat reclines to 140°, and it has the most cushioned seat of the three. All three fold in 3 seconds and use the same patented 360° steering.

Which smarTrike® suits a 6 month old?

Wonder max™. It is the only model in the range designed from 6 months, because the seat reclines to 140°, which supports a baby who cannot yet sit unaided. Wonder™ and Wonder+™ start later, once your child can sit up on their own.
