Beating the heat on summer walks
Walk before ten and after four, keep the canopy forward, choose a breathable mesh seat, and never cover the canopy with a cloth, which traps heat. Flushed cheeks, unusual quiet and a hot neck mean stop, shade and water. The Wonder+™ and Wonder max™ carry a three-stage canopy for exactly these days.

Timing beats everything
The footpath at 3pm in January is hotter than the air. Morning and late afternoon walks are cooler, and the low sun is easier to shade with a canopy.
Shade that actually shades
- Pull the canopy forward. The three-stage canopy on the Wonder+™ and Wonder max™ comes right down.
- Never drape a muslin or blanket over the canopy. It traps heat inside the seat.
- Face them away from the sun when you stop.
Airflow
The mesh seat backs on the Wonder™ and Wonder+™ let air through. On very hot days, trike mode with the canopy off is cooler than stroller mode with the canopy on, as long as they are in the shade.
Signs to stop
Flushed cheeks, a hot neck, unusual quiet or fussing, fewer wet nappies. Shade, water, and home. If you are worried, call your GP or the maternal and child health line.
Common questions
Which model is best for hot climates?
The Wonder+™: three-stage canopy plus an extra-large mesh seat, at 6.42 kg.
Can I put a fan on the trike?
Clip-on fans exist; keep cords away from the wheels and harness.
Is the cushioned seat on the Wonder max™ too hot?
It is warmer than mesh. On hot days, recline less and keep the canopy forward.
