Stroller-trike or pram for a one-year-old?

The short answer

For a one-year-old who already sits unaided, a stroller-trike does everything a lightweight pram does on a walk, then converts into a trike they scoot, pedal and eventually ride themselves. Keep the full-size pram for newborn days and long shopping trips. For the daily walk and the trip, the Wonder™ replaces the second stroller, the first trike and the balance-bike stage.

What a pram does better

  • Newborn to six months: a bassinet lies flat. The Wonder max™ reclines to 140°, not flat.
  • Big shopping: a pram basket carries more.
  • Two children: a double pram is a double pram.

What a stroller-trike does better

  • From ten months (six on the Wonder max™) it is the walk out and the ride home in one.
  • It teaches steering and pedalling while you still hold the handle.
  • It folds to carry-on size and weighs under 7 kg. Most prams do neither.
  • It is used to three years, then handed down.

The honest answer for most families

Keep the pram you have for the first months and the big days. Add the Wonder™ at around one, and watch which one gets used. In our experience the pram goes in the garage by eighteen months.

No. The earliest start is six months, on the Wonder max™.

Which Wonder™ replaces a pram best?

The Wonder max™ if naps on the move matter; the Wonder+™ for sun; the Wonder™ for the lightest carry.
